Our dedication
to the bleeding disorders community, diligent use of funds,
and personal relationships with organizations in developing
countries allow Save One Life to provide a unique program
that is all our own.
Concentrated Effort on the Bleeding
Disorders Community
Save One Life fosters one-to-one caring relationships and
direct financial support through individual sponsorship programs
for people with bleeding disorders in developing countries
to help meet the medical, education and social needs of the
community.
Relationship Building
Save One Life promotes genuine communication between sponsors
and candidates in the developing world as an integral part
of the sponsorship program. A goal of this communication is
to create a personal link between sponsors and the enrolled
children and young adults.
Personal Programs
Save One Life staff make frequent field visits to developing
countries to meet with the local bleeding disorders organization
and with sponsored children and young adults. We want to make
certain that sponsorship funds are helping each sponsored
child or young adult and his or her family meet their basic
needs, improve their economic and social conditions, and increase
their ability to contribute to society. Personal sponsorship
provides the reliable support necessary to sustain long-term
programs while permitting individuals to take a personal stake
in the future of the bleeding disorders world.
Proper Use of Funds
Before selecting a country for our program, Save One Life
carefully studies the credibility and accountability of the
country's national bleeding disorders organization. This association
is typically a registered, nonprofit working for the benefit
of people with bleeding disorders.
Candidates
for sponsorship are children or young adults who are registered
members of the country's bleeding disorders organization and
receive care at the treatment center. Sponsorships are sent
directly to this local association, which dispenses the donation
to the child or young adult's family. This method of distribution
ensures close contact between the sponsored individual and
the bleeding disorders organization and allows for the continual
monitoring of the family's need and proper use of funds. To
further ensure accountability, Save One Life personnel make
periodic visits to organizations and sponsored individuals
in participating countries and encourage supporters to do
the same.
All of
the funds received from individual sponsors go directly to
the developing country. The overhead for managing Save One
Life is generated through other sources.
Non-Sectarian
Save One Life is a non-sectarian sponsorship organization.
We respect the diversity of religions and cultures of our
program participants and do not seek to impose our own religious
values on the children, young adults and families we serve.
